YENİ ARALIK 2025

Galeri Soyut’s regular and traditional annual “Yeni Aralık / New Space” Project Exhibition once again brings together young and master artists under the same roof, making a strong contribution to the contemporary art scene. Maintaining its connections with universities and young artists from different cities of Turkey for years, Galeri Soyut steadily continues its mission of being a reliable starting point for creators at the beginning of their careers.

Aimed at turning into an art gathering as the new year approaches, Yeni Aralık offers both artists and viewers new ways of thinking and a different perspective through the problematic of "dimension" it puts forward.

The exhibition brings together hundreds of works consisting of paintings produced in 25×25 cm dimensions and small-scale sculptures. While this format encourages artists to re-engage with the surface, it invites the viewer to rethink the concepts of "dimension," "value," and "perception." Reminding us of small-scale works with great impact in art history, it emphasizes that the value of art is determined not by size, but by the essence and expressive power it contains.

Yeni Aralık also makes visible once again the fact that most of the innovations in the short but intense history of Turkish painting were initiated by young artists. If we can speak of "Turkish Painting" today, the courage, freedom, and experimentalism of younger generations lie at its foundation. Therefore, one of the important aims of the exhibition is to invest in the future by providing sustainable support to young artists.

Bringing together artists from every generation, this platform also questions market-oriented conditions that determine the value of a work of art. Presenting all works at the same price enables the establishment of a more sincere communication based on plastic values between the viewer and the artist.

One of the important components of the project is that young artists selected by a committee formed from the master artists participating in the exhibition will be sent to research and experience programs abroad, hold a solo exhibition at Galeri Soyut, and be invited to the art fairs in which the gallery takes part. Thus, Yeni Aralık is positioned not only as an exhibition, but as a long-term support and visibility platform for young artists.
