HASAN SAYGIN

HASAN SAYGIN (1958), Galeri Soyut’un temsil ettiği sanatçılardan biridir. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 303 eseri ve 59 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 1997–2026). Hasan Saygın was born in 1958 in the Karamanlı district of Burdur. Spending his childhood in Karamanlı, Saygın showed a great interest in painting from a young age. However, his talent was not sufficiently supported due to the conditions around him. Still, he maintained his interest in painting during his high school years, and although his talent was noticed by one of his teachers during this period, he received a warning that he would not succeed in this field. Despite all these difficulties, in 1977 he entered the Istanbul State Academy of Applied Fine Arts. At this school, he studied under important professors such as Balkan Naci İslimyeli, Hüsamettin Koçan, Ergin İnan, and Mustafa Pilevneli.

In 1980, he found the opportunity to go to Paris, which is considered the center of the art world. What he saw in museums and galleries during this three-month visit deeply influenced his understanding of art. After continuing his education for two more years, he permanently settled in Paris in 1982. While building his art career here, he married a French woman and had two children.

Throughout his art career in Paris, he collaborated for ten years with "Galerie 26", located in "Place des Vosges". In addition, he held solo exhibitions at prestigious galleries such as "Galerie Vendôme" and "Galerie Michele Boulet". Saygın became an internationally recognized artist with his works and won awards in many group exhibitions. His works have been included in numerous collections worldwide. He is particularly known for his realist works inspired by the nude and still life studies of Renaissance painters. From time to time, he has also offered a contemporary interpretation in his works through modern colors and stains.

One of the honors received by the artist throughout his career is the publication of a book prepared in his name by Galeri 26 in 1997. In recent years, he has taken part as an "Guest of Honor" in some group exhibitions held in France and other European countries. After staying abroad for 34 years, he was invited to Turkey and opened solo exhibitions at Eskişehir Anadolu University and in Izmir Konak Güzelyalı. Realizing his seventh solo exhibition in Turkey, the artist continues to exhibit his works in countries such as France, Europe, the USA, and China.

He creates hyperrealistic portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, particularly using oil painting, pastel, and watercolor techniques.
