Biography
TANSEL TÜRKDOĞAN (1966), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 127 eseri ve 14 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2013–2025). TANSEL TÜRKDOĞAN (Antakya 1966)
Following his undergraduate and graduate studies, he worked at METU starting in 1989 successively as an Assistant, Instructor, and Faculty Member. He became an Associate Professor in 1998 and a Professor in 2004, serving as the Head of the METU Department of Fine Arts and Music between 2000 and 2005. In 2005, he became the Founding Dean of the Gazi University Faculty of Fine Arts. Türkdoğan began engaging with contemporary art practices and producing works since the early 90s. Since 1989, he has worked at universities and galleries, participated in workshops, projects, and group exhibitions, and undertaken curatorial duties in the United States, Germany, Albania, Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, Georgia, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Greece, Romania, and Tunisia. Having authored the books "Çağdaş Sanat" and "Modernizm Sonrası Sanat tartışmaları-Sanat Kültür Politika", Türkdoğan has held 25 solo exhibitions to date (three abroad), participated in international and national symposia and biennials with his works, projects, and papers, served as a consultant at TRT and as a board member of UNESCO AIAP (UPSD), written articles for art magazines and daily newspapers, and has had catalogs, numerous reviews, and news articles published about the exhibitions he curated and participated in. Türkdoğan's works are included in private and public collections.
Türkdoğan continues to teach undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D./Proficiency in Art programs at METU, Ankara, and AHBV universities, and currently continues his duties as a faculty member.
Prof. Tansel Türkdoğan is interested in the current issues of art and the postmodern condition.
