ADEM BAŞPINAR

ADEM BAŞPINAR (1975), Galeri Soyut’un temsil ettiği sanatçılardan biridir. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 296 eseri ve 55 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2017–2026). Adem Başpınar was born in the Arapgir district of Malatya in 1975. In 1994, he graduated from Istanbul Anatolian High School of Fine Arts. In 1999, he completed his education at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, in the studios of Neşe Erdok and Özdemir Altan. Starting his art career as a stage painter (realizer) at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet in 2005, Başpınar has taken part in numerous group and competition exhibitions to date.

In 2016, he won an honorable mention in the "Like Yunus" Painting Competition organized by the Governorship of Eskişehir, and in 2015, he was deemed worthy of the first-place prize in the 11th Traditional Ümraniye Municipality Painting Competition. Currently continuing his work in his studio in Beyoğlu, Başpınar creates a unique atmosphere in his paintings by blending his personal imagination and fiction with surreal events. In his paintings, figures expressing the feeling of belonging and transience are generally located within open and abstract spaces. Cubically formed and deformed figures are kneaded with spatial effects, transforming almost into sculptures.

Adem Başpınar’s art is the product of a quest aimed at answering questions about every aspect of life and the world. He aims to find a unique space by shouldering the heritage of the past and to change the world with his art. Every state of man, his social lives and beliefs hold an important place in his paintings. His art addresses issues concerning man and the world in depth and aims to keep the individual within sublime values.

Başpınar examines pain and life in his art rather than the decorative, trying to re-understand man through imaginary and dreamlike elements. His art draws attention as a form of expression far from clichés, making a difference and exalting man. In this process, he continuously renews himself by drawing nourishment from every branch of art and from philosophy. While processing the concepts of space and time in his paintings, he avoids limiting them; on the contrary, he aims to spread to infinity by pushing boundaries with his art.
