Tuncay Koçay’s solo sculpture exhibition titled “Kişisel / Personal” is on view at Galeri Soyut / Hall B. The exhibition can be visited between March 7 and 17, 2026.

In this selection under the title “Kişisel”, Tuncay Koçay moves beyond a pre-conceived conceptual storyline, focusing on the self-discipline of the material and the production process. Concentrating on “what the material is” rather than “what art tells,” the artist re-questions the three-dimensionality of sculpture within that delicate balance between serendipity and fiction. Placing sensory properties such as hardness, fragility, opacity, and translucency at the center, the works document the timeless encounter between form and space without the need for any external theme.

Born in Ankara in 1982, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuncay Koçay completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in the Department of Sculpture at Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts. Having deepened his knowledge of materials by taking part in ancient city restoration projects throughout his career, the artist continues his academic and artistic production within Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University and Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University. Koçay, whose works are included in public and private collections, presents his transformation process, which has evolved from dense and fragmented forms to minimal pursuits, to art enthusiasts with this exhibition.
