TUNCAY KOÇAY (1982), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 17 eseri ve 1 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2026–2026). Born in Ankara in 1982, Tuncay KOÇAY completed his undergraduate education, which he began at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture, in 2006. Following his undergraduate graduation, he participated in various ancient city restoration projects within the body of the Ministry of Culture and continued his artistic work. He completed his Master's degree, which he started as a Research Assistant at Anadolu University in 2013, in 2015, and his Proficiency in Art education in 2021. Having participated in various national and international juried group exhibitions and competitions, the artist has works in public and private collections. KOÇAY continues his artistic and academic work as an Assistant Professor within the Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University.

Titled “Kişisel”, this exhibition has emerged not as the result of a pre-fictionalized conceptual track, but of a production practice shaped by the inner discipline of the material, process, and possibilities. The exhibited works occupy that narrow space between contingency and fiction.

This selection focuses, within a framework that focuses not on “what art tells,” but on “what material is”, on the transition from complex, fragmented, and dense forms to minimal forms, questioning the three-dimensionality of sculpture and focusing on the transformation process in which the material begins to fade. The works center sensory characteristics such as hardness, fragility, opacity, and permeability, exhibiting their own existence without the need for any external theme. Following the possibilities offered by the material, the artist reconfigures form and space in a balanced manner.

"Kişisel" is a record of that timeless encounter between the possibilities the material can offer and the artist's intervention.
