Mohammad Bozorgi is a groundbreaking artist who reinterprets traditional calligraphy with a modern approach. In his works, he combines the elegance of classical Arabic and Persian calligraphy with mathematical compositions, giving texts an aesthetic depth. The exhibition "Disobedient Art" showcases his creative vision that challenges traditional forms and brings calligraphy together with abstract art. Bozorgi’s art offers not only a visual experience but also a cultural and spiritual journey. His works provide an inspiring demonstration of how art can evolve into a contemporary form of expression by drawing nourishment from both tradition and technology.
Mohammad Bozorgi is a versatile artist who reinterprets traditional calligraphy not only on canvas but also in various fields. He has expanded the boundaries of calligraphy by bringing his art to life in numerous projects, ranging from private jets to prestigious brands such as Rolls Royce and Dior. In jewelry designs and architectural projects, he processes letters and words with a three-dimensional approach, bringing a brand-new dimension to traditional calligraphy. Bozorgi’s works create a captivating impact both visually and functionally by skillfully combining contemporary art and technology.
Mohammad Bozorgi is one of the leading creative art designers and renowned calligraphers of the Middle East. His presence in respected auctions such as Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Bonhams, along with his solo exhibitions and participation in group exhibitions in many cities such as London, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Vienna, Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ankara, Istanbul, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, reflects the importance and impact of his works.
The renowned Aga Khan Museum in Canada has hosted Bozorgi's intricately designed carpet. Additionally, a relatively large collection of his works is exhibited at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
Having mastered various branches of classical calligraphy for over thirty years—such as Nasta'liq, Shekasteh, Thuluth, Naskh, and Diwani—Bozorgi has introduced his own unique touches to these rigid and traditional forms, creating bold changes fueled by his identity as an artist-engineer. Therefore, he is known for his abstract paintings and his rebellious approach to classical calligraphy.
His original work in jewelry and accessory design stands out as a revolutionary innovation in this field, bringing a three-dimensional perspective to letters and words that have been trapped in a two-dimensional mold for 14 centuries.
On the other hand, the projects he realized for brands such as Rolls Royce and Dior have changed the perspective of those who thought calligraphy could not harmonize with contemporary art, demonstrating that there are still many undiscovered aspects of the aesthetic potential of letters. His designs for private jets also showcase his versatile and innovative mindset.
Bozorgi has achieved significant and impressive success by combining visual arts with Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and is considered one of the pioneers among Middle Eastern calligraphers in blending art and technology.
Various media outlets such as VOGUE Arabia, The National, Gulf News, and WallStreet International have examined and analyzed his works at different times.
