Elalmış continues his artistic production in his studio in Ankara.
While Ataç Elalmış's works extensively process nature and landscape elements, they are particularly known for depicting natural entities such as mountains and trees with an abstract and symbolic language. Mountains in Turkey's different geographical regions frequently appear among the themes repeated in his works. Natural elements such as Munzur Dağı and Zeytin Ağacı create a visual storytelling in his works. By reflecting the power and aesthetics of nature in his works, the artist offers viewers a profound visual experience.
Preferring to produce large-format works by using the oil on canvas technique in his paintings, Elalmış draws attention with large-scale works such as 200x180 cm. With his detailed and meticulous craftsmanship, the artist masterfully combines the simplicity and depth of nature. His works harbor complex emotional layers and abstract thoughts beneath imagery that appears simple on the surface.
Elalmış’s contributions to his art career have not been limited only to his individual achievements; he has also made significant contributions to the development of contemporary art in Turkey. In particular, his reinterpretation of landscape painting and his influence on modern art movements have made him one of the respected figures of the Turkish art community.
Throughout his career, with his works inspired by nature, Ataç Elalmış takes art lovers on both a visual and intellectual journey.
