Born in Ankara in 1984, Hazal Aksoy pursued her art education at Gazi University Institute of Fine Arts, where she completed both her master's degree and proficiency in art. Attracting attention with her artistic production as well as her academic achievements, Aksoy held her first solo exhibition at the age of 19, in 2003, at the Semih Balcıoğlu Gallery. This exhibition began with the exhibition titled “İnsanlık Hali” in Ürgüp, and with this exhibition, Aksoy began to be recognized in art circles by presenting her unique style of expression to the viewers.

In her art practice, Aksoy produces works that question the inner world of the individual and the complexity of modern life. Her works, which possess philosophical depth, take shape around themes that examine time, space, and human relations. The exhibition “Çoktan Seçmeli Korkular”, which she opened in 2010 at Galeri 5 in Istanbul, bears the traces of a period in which Aksoy examined societal fears and individual anxieties. At the same time, she successfully processes the themes of uncertainty and anxiety, which are among the important issues of contemporary art.

Aksoy has managed to maintain her art career in a balanced way with the academic world. Her academic career, which she started in 2009, continued in 2012 as a faculty member at Kocaeli Faculty of Fine Arts. In this position, she made significant contributions to the worlds of art and education, guiding her students toward art both technically and conceptually. While her academic life enriched her artistic vision, she also found the opportunity to share this with the audience in her solo exhibitions.

Among her recent exhibitions are “Gün Fragmanları”, which took place at Galeri Soyut in 2024, and “Mutlak Şimdi”, which she held at Arkitekt Sanat in Istanbul. In these exhibitions, Aksoy addressed the fragmented nature of time and the individual's effort to position themselves in this complex structure. Aksoy's works are filled with powerful visual metaphors that prompt viewers to question the realities of the contemporary world.

Aksoy's art is based on a deep intellectual ground as well as being aesthetic. Her works not only offer a visual experience, but also serve as an invitation to explore human existence and the identity crises imposed by the modern world. The successes Aksoy has achieved in her career have ensured her acceptance as one of the important figures of Turkish contemporary art.
