METİN TÜTÜN (1960), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 29 eseri ve 2 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2019–2019). Metin Tütün graduated from Izmir High School (BAL) and METU Department of Electrical Engineering. He worked in engineering and management in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his professional life, he maintained a close interest in various art disciplines, primarily music. A photographer for about 40 years, the artist began sculpting in Azerbaijan, where he went for work in 2000 and spent 10 years. He participated in various sculpture workshops in Baku, Konya, Denizli, and Los Angeles. After leaving business life and returning to Turkey in 2010, he focused on art full time.

Bringing together photographs and sculptures under the same theme, Metin Tütün finds it exciting to use various possibilities of art in combination. In his exhibitions, nude photographs are accompanied by his sculptures using different materials. His first solo photo/sculpture exhibition, «Gölgeler Çekildiğinde», opened in Istanbul in 2014. Some of his works were exhibited at Contemporary Istanbul in 2014 and 2015. He had a relief featured in the exhibition «Don Kişot'un İzleri», which opened in Ankara and Bodrum in 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of Cervantes's death. He participated in the Art Ankara Art Fair twice. Following the «The Blues/1» and «The Blues/2» exhibitions in Istanbul and Izmir, he opened a solo exhibition in Antalya. One of his sculptures was included in the exhibition «Hierapolis’ten Halikarnasus’a» at the Şevket Sabancı Museum in Bodrum. His photographs and sculptures were exhibited in Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre, as well as at the Fotofever and Art Shopping art fairs. He took part in Nude Art LA in Los Angeles in 2018 and 2019, Art Expo Contemporary in New York in 2023 and 2024, and Red Dot Contemporary Art Fair in Miami in 2023. The 23-year-old California-based art magazine ART PATRON named Metin Tütün among the «16 Artists to Know in 2019». He was invited by the Orange Blossom International Plastic Arts Colony to the exhibition held in Ankara for the 96th anniversary of the Republic. Along with 95 other artists, he participated in the Republic Exhibition with a work on October 29, 2019.

A retrospective book featuring his photographs and sculptures presented in all his exhibitions and various art events was published in October 2020.

The adventure began in 2014 with the exhibition «Gölgeler Çekildiğinde». He brought different perspectives to the female body as a form through both his photographs and sculptures. Various pursuits and experiences ranging from shadows to blues, from clay to bronze... Sometimes revealing with light and concealing with shadow, sometimes shedding light on what is hidden in shadow... Photographs and sculptures that sometimes take you far away merely as a silhouette, sometimes purify with water and invite you into deep blues...

And before you know it, 10 years have passed. Then comes the time to look back a little, evaluate the adventure, and summarize... Solo exhibitions held domestically and participation in numerous contemporary art fairs and exhibitions abroad... A retrospective book published in 2020...

This is the story of a ten-year journey written with pursuits...
