YİĞİT ALTIPARMAKOĞULLARI

Yiğit Altıparmakoğulları's painting exhibition titled "Daha da Yakın / Even Closer" is on view at Galeri Soyut / Çankaya Hall A. This special selection, featuring the artist's figurative explorations blended with his academic background, can be visited between 6 February – 13 March 2026.

In line with my artistic understanding built upon a foundation of figurative painting, I generally create plain and balanced compositions. Paintings consisting of a single figure hold an important place among all my works. With the figures I depict – whether they are a human, animal, or object – I express momentary situations and moods, or explore the possibilities of representation expressing a certain process. I do not clearly delineate the boundaries of the narrative, and I want to provide spaces that will allow the expression to diversify with each viewer. As in the paintings of crows included in the exhibition, I aim to reflect the elements that I find formally impressive by transforming the images in my mind into effective forms using the human figure or the animals and objects I prefer. In my recent works, by incorporating popular or underground culture images etched in my mind during different periods of my life into my compositions, I question the balance between illustrative elements and pictorial form.
