Galeri Soyut is hosting solo exhibition "Hibrit Fauna" by sculptor Serkan Erkoç, where he pushes the boundaries of materials, between April 3 - 16, 2026. Born in Sivas and raised in Ankara, the artist has transformed his long-standing passion for crafts into a professional art practice at his studio in Mersin, giving a fantastical identity to waste materials and antique objects.
In Erkoç's sculptural language, the warm texture of wood carving combines in perfect harmony with the industrial coldness of metal. The artist's superior success in lathe and carving techniques materializes in a smooth craftsmanship evident in each piece from "Atom" to "Skylith". Starting from animal forms but evolving into a fantastical dimension, these figures redefine the concept of "waste" by transforming today's consumption objects into collection pieces. This striking collection by Serkan Erkoç can be seen in Hall B of Galeri Soyut until April 16.
