Galeri Soyut presents the painting exhibition titled “AN’lar / Moments” by the artist Osman Akça between April 17 – May 9, 2026. To be exhibited in Hall B in Çankaya, this selection brings together the artist's most recent works in which he questions the relationship between urban memory, time, and space. The exhibition will open with an opening reception on Friday, April 17 at 18:00.

In Osman Akça's paintings, space is constructed not merely as a background, but as memory itself. The artist's two main series, "Pigeons" and "Bicycles," make the silent yet deep relationship that humans establish with the city visible. While pigeons, as witnesses of historical squares, establish a link between the past and the present; bicycles waiting silently in a corner turn into a metaphor of slowing down and noticing.
One of the most striking elements of the exhibition is the geographical coordinates embroidered onto each painting. By incorporating the coordinates of the space he depicts into his canvases, Akça invites the viewer to the awareness of a tangible location beyond a visual experience. With this method, the painting ceases to be an abstract landscape and is fixed to a real point in the world. The coordinates offer both a scientific certainty and a poetic language, transforming the question "where are we?" into an existential inquiry.
Nourished by the multi-layered spirit of Istanbul, Akça masterfully establishes the balance of light, color, and movement in his works. The artist's experience from the discipline of advertising and visual communication strengthens the composition structure and graphic aesthetics in his painterly language. Each "moment" assumes a timeless atmosphere under the artist's brush, taking the viewer on their own personal journey of memory.
Osman Akça, who has participated in numerous exhibitions and fairs at home and abroad to date, can be viewed at Galeri Soyut Hall B until May 9 for those who want to discover the silent details amidst the noise of the city.
