Galeri Soyut is hosting the solo painting exhibition «Renkli Hayatlar, Estetik Duruşlar» by Hakan Ecevit from January 10 to January 29, 2025. Consisting of the artist's recent works, the exhibition is on view at Galeri Soyut Çankaya Hall C.
Born in Gaziantep in 1982, Hakan Ecevit took his first steps into his art career with painting studies he began during high school. Having won admission to the Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, the artist completed his education at the Gazi University Faculty of Architecture, Department of City and Regional Planning. Having spent a period of his life in France-Paris, Germany-Cologne, and the Netherlands-Amsterdam, Ecevit had the opportunity to deepen his knowledge in subjects such as art history, basic drawing techniques, and architecture by working alongside local artists there. Gaining recognition in the international art arena by opening his first solo exhibition in USA-California in 2017, the artist has taken part in numerous important exhibitions and fairs with his works to date.
Hakan Ecevit's works consist of compositions where figurative elements are blended with an intense aesthetic sensitivity. The series with diverse themes that he creates with his unique technique draw attention as a reflection of the artist's observations regarding life, space, and humanity. One of the artist's works was chosen as the cover design for a novel to be published in March 2025 by the US-based world-renowned publishing house Simon&Schuster. This significant development will contribute to Ecevit's art reaching broader audiences on the international platform.
Having had his works exhibited at international art fairs such as Art Ankara, Art Contact Istanbul, Miami, and Varna to date, the artist is also known for his works adorning the walls of leading federal schools in Germany. At the same time, Hakan Ecevit has successfully represented contemporary Turkish painting by standing out with his works in various curator selections worldwide.
The exhibition «Renkli Hayatlar, Estetik Duruşlar» offers a visual storytelling where colors and forms intertwine in Ecevit's artistic production. The artist's works take the viewer on a contemplative journey by touching the depths of both individual and societal aesthetic perception.
