BAHADIR YAVUZ AYDIN’S FIRST SOLO SCULPTURE EXHIBITION “TEMAS: DOĞA VE İNSAN” IS ON VIEW.

Sculptor Bahadır Yavuz Aydın’s sculpture exhibition titled “Temas: Doğa ve İnsan / Contact: Nature and Humanity” is preparing to welcome visitors between June 05 and June 24, 2026. The opening reception of the exhibition will take place on Friday, June 05, between 18:00 and 20:00.

The Intuitive Memory of Touch and Material Bahadır Yavuz Aydın approaches the act of “touch,” which he places at the focus of the exhibition, not merely as a physical contact, but as a method of making sense of the world and existence. While transforming the intuitive bond he establishes with every material he touches into forms, the artist makes materials originating from the heart of nature—such as metal, wood, marble, and paper—part of his own journey of discovery. According to Aydın, every touch leaves an indelible mark both in the mind and in matter; these marks can be sensed before words and sound, yet only through the silent and profound language of sculptures.

Humanity, Manipulation, and the Asymmetric Bond Betül Fatma Aydın, who authored the exhibition text, bases the conceptual framework of the exhibition on humanity's power to transform and “manipulate” nature in line with its own desires (shaping with the hand in its etymological origin). In today's world where industrialization and modern urban life have severed human beings from nature, Bahadır Yavuz Aydın’s sculptures open this rupture and the effort to reconnect to aesthetic inquiry. The new forms taken on by the material derived from nature after being touched by the human hand make visible that powerful theme between human and nature—an inevitable, non-symmetric theme that nourishes art precisely through its asymmetry.

Works Inviting the Viewer to Touch While presenting a contemporary picture of contacting nature in the modern world, the artist also invites the viewer to establish a bond with objects not just through sight, but through intuition. The sculptures in the exhibition space, much like the raw and inviting structure of nature, call upon the viewer to break down distances, to feel, and to touch.

Born in Sakarya in 1998, Bahadır Yavuz Aydın studied in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Amasya University between 2018 and 2021. Following his passion for art, he changed his academic path and graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2025. During his education (2024-2025), he studied at the renowned Accademia di Belle Arti Carrara in Italy within the scope of the Erasmus+ program. Having taken part in numerous prestigious selections including the 77th State Painting and Sculpture Exhibition, the Erdemir Steel and Life Sculpture Competition, and the “Orbits” special group exhibition at Cermodern, the artist continues his work in his studio in Ankara.
