AĞIT UĞUR ULUDAĞ

AĞIT UĞUR ULUDAĞ (1989), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 68 eseri ve 14 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2014–2022). Ağıt Uğur Uludağ was born in Osmaniye in 1989. In 2004, he began his art education in the Painting Department of Mersin Nevid Kodallı Anatolian Fine Arts High School. After graduating successfully in 2008, he started his academic education the same year by winning admission to the Painting Department of Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts.
He graduated from the faculty in 2013 as the top-ranking student of his department. During his academic education, he began participating in various group painting exhibitions. In 2017, he began his master's degree studies at OsmanGazi University Faculty of Art and Design. From his academic education to the present day, he has participated in more than sixty exhibitions, numerous workshops, and fairs, and has held 3 solo exhibitions. Furthermore, as an avid reader, he conducts personal analyses of artworks and shares them with readers on various social news platforms. He completed his military service in 2016 and continues his work for new exhibitions in his home-studio in Eskişehir.

While practicing this oldest profession of history, it is an open fact that art is in a one-to-one relationship with the creator's true self. In my works, I generally tell stories. However, these usually develop around stories that have never been written. Therefore, the viewer is free to complete the end of the story. My works can only whisper something to the ear with a descriptive style; what is seen and how what is seen can be expressed is solely the responsibility of the eyes looking at it. Otherwise, in its process from cave walls to the white-painted walls of art galleries, it will remain no different from countless unique works made before it, and it will not create an awareness in the sea of difference. Technically, it completes its existence by blending the traces of the past with the non-existent stories of today. At other times, I produce works that reveal the current pains of our era through a style whose contemporaneity is veiled. Therefore, every mind can actually find the past, utopia, or reality itself. The point I aim for in my works is to bring forth from the sometimes painful dramatic nature of light, far from aesthetic concerns and the shadow of pleasing colors and subjects. By blending the influence of Baroque classicism with a surrealist approach from time to time, I produce works close to mysticism. Figurative elements and landscapes shifting at times toward Romanticism constitute the general character of my works.
