MEHMET YILMAZ

MEHMET YILMAZ (1963), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 35 eseri ve 1 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2024–2026). MEHMET YILMAZ (Mut/Mersin, Turkey, 1963)

He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Painting and Crafts Education in 1987. He received his Master's degree in 1989 and his Proficiency in Art degree in 1993 from Hacettepe University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Painting.

Between 1991 and 2003, he taught sculpture, painting, and art history courses at METU. Between 2003 and 2006, he worked at Mersin University, Faculty of Fine Arts. He became a Professor in 2004. In 2006, he was appointed to Gazi University, Faculty of Fine Arts.

Since 1991, he has created the series Images of the New World Order, Pieces in My Memory, Those Looking Through Glass, Reliefs, A Part of Me Inside, Foreign Inside Outer, Se.x.ual Things, Objectionable Because Immodest, Duchamp and Düşan, Twins, Friends, Scupaintng, Post-Portrait, and Cézanne and Sezan. Alongside his solo exhibitions, he has participated in group exhibitions at home and abroad. His works have been included in domestic and foreign collections. He has received sixteen awards. He has written ten books in the context of modern and postmodern art and edited four books.

Currently a full-time faculty member at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Faculty of Fine Arts, and a part-time instructor at METU, Department of Fine Arts, Yılmaz continues his art and book projects.
