MALİK BULUT

MALİK BULUT (1974), eserleri Galeri Soyut arşivinde yer alan sanatçılardandır. Galeri Soyut sitesinde sanatçının 1 eseri ve 1 sergisi kayıtlı (eserlerin tarih aralığı 2013–2013). Malik Bulut was born in Silifke in 1974. He graduated from Mersin University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture in 2000. Between 2000 and 2004, he worked as an assistant to master sculptor Mehmet Aksoy. Since 2004, he has been continuing his work independently in his own studio in Istanbul.

Preferring marble in particular in his works, the artist focuses on capturing the mobility of stone and its relationship with light.

Throughout his career:

He participated in 23 international sculpture symposia.

He took part in numerous international art fairs (Contemporary Istanbul, SOFA New York, SOFA Chicago, Verona Stone, Baku, etc.).

He has held over 18 solo exhibitions.

His works are found in museum, state, university, and private collections in Turkey and the USA. One of his works is in the permanent exhibition collection of the New York Long Island Contemporary Museum. His monumental works are also on permanent display in public spaces.

Important Awards:

1999 - Çukurova University Sculpture Competition First Prize.

2009 - Ege-Art Sculpture Workshop Award.

2012 - Social Education and Development Association Award.

2013 - Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs Medal of Distinguished Service.

He has also conducted sculpture workshops with children in different cities of Anatolia with the Creative Children's Association. The artist is working on an outdoor sculpture park and museum project named "Sculpture Field" in Kumburgaz, Istanbul.
