Reconstructing reality in his multi-layered works with a unique pictorial style, Temür Köran produces open-ended works that trigger the viewer's imagination. Rather than presenting an emotion, concept, living being, or object that influences him with its rigid reality, the artist prefers to use open-ended imagery in his works that gain new meanings in the viewer's mind. Caring about the plastic issues of painting, Köran utilizes the violence of bold colors in his works where he uses form and color space together. Liking to discover and experiment in his artistic production, the artist uses primitive figure motifs—leitmotif—that he created himself from ready-made objects as models during the period when he just graduated from the academy. In the paintings that emerged during this period, inspired by Eastern art, he establishes hierarchical compositions where he resolves the surface with color. Then, when he re-incorporates the human figure into his painting, the İkililer Series emerges as a synthesis of all his artistic experiences. Resulting from an experimental process where he places two canvases of the same size side by side and applies the same brushstrokes simultaneously, the İkililer series holds an important place in the artist's corpus. Before starting a canvas painting, Köran takes visual notes in the form of drawings of the elements he will place inside the composition. Alongside his canvas paintings, he adopts a multi-layered and expressionist pictorial style in his drawings where he uses different materials together.

Born in Siverek in 1960, Temür Köran graduated from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Devrim Erbil Workshop in 1986. In 1996, he received his proficiency in art in the Painting Major at the same university. His first solo exhibition opened at Yonca Modern Art Gallery in 1989. In the 90s, he went to America for a period and continued his work in his studio in Seattle. Working with Evin Art Gallery since 1997, the artist has opened twenty-two solo exhibitions in various galleries. Having had his works featured in many group exhibitions at home and abroad throughout his artistic life, the artist participated in the ARTİST Istanbul Art Fair organized by TÜYAP every year between 1997 and 2019. Köran's works have been included in the permanent collections of museums such as the Istanbul Museum of Painting and Sculpture and Istanbul Modern, as well as important private and corporate collections. In 2001, his first artist monograph was published by Evin Art Gallery. Köran continues his work in his studio in Istanbul.
